This page is a guide to help you understand what to expect from your first dental appointment
We ask our new patients to arrive at their appointment 10 minutes early to complete a new patient assessment form. The form includes a questionnaire on your teeth, general health and wellbeing.
Your new dentist will discuss any concerns that you have with your oral health. Perhaps you are suffering from discomfort or you are unhappy with your smile? Your dentist will be happy to talk you through the options available to meet your needs.
During your first appointment, your new dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw joints. The examination also includes an oral and throat cancer check. To be thorough, we usually take some X-rays and/or photographs of your mouth. The images will help your dentist discuss the state of your teeth, gums and jaw with you after the examination. Everyone is different and we take the time to listen to their wants and needs.
Your first examination is followed by a thorough cleaning and polishing of your teeth. This is followed by a fluoride treatment to strengthen and protect your teeth.
If we find any problems that need further treatment, we will formulate a plan for any dental work and provide a quote.
You’ll have no problems finding a park for your car with designated patient parking on-premises.
